When you think “Scottsdale” and “party,” Old Town often comes to mind first. For a bachelorette party, it’s usually the top pick.
Why It’s Great for Bachelorettes:
1. Walk Everywhere: This was a huge plus for us. You can walk from your room to a cool brunch spot, then to shops, and finally to the best nightclubs. No need for lots of Uber rides.
2. Lively Nightlife: Old Town has the best party spots. clubs like Riot House (for a South Beach feel), Dierks Bentley’s Whiskey Row (if you love country music), and Maya Day + Nightclub (for pool parties during the day and dancing at night).
3. Lots of Places to Eat: From fun brunch spots to fancy dinners and casual cafes, Old Town has food for every taste. I heard great things about Hash Kitchen for brunch, even though we couldn’t get a table.
Where to Stay:
1. Hotels: If you like hotels with everything you need, places like W Scottsdale (known for its lively pool), Hotel Valley Ho (a cool, old-school hotel with a great pool), The Saguaro (colorful and fun), and Canopy by Hilton Scottsdale Old Town (with a nice rooftop pool) are perfect. The W Scottsdale came up a lot in our search for being right in the middle of the party.
2. Vacation Rentals (Airbnbs/VRBOs): Many bachelorette groups choose these. They’re often decorated for parties. Look for places like The Sunset Club or Femme House AZ. They often have private pools, big living areas, and even special spots for getting ready.

McCormick Ranch / Central Scottsdale: Resorts and Comfort

While Old Town is great for parties, McCormick Ranch and Central Scottsdale are good if you want a mix of party and relaxation. One of my friend’s bridesmaids, who knew Scottsdale well, told us to check out resorts here for a more “fancy chill” before hitting Old Town.
Why It’s a Good Choice:
1. Good Balance: It’s a bit calmer than Old Town, but still just a short drive to all the action. Perfect if your group wants both fun nights and relaxing days.
2. Luxury Resorts: This area has many fancy resorts with amazing spas, several pools (some with lively scenes), golf courses, and nice restaurants. Think Fairmont Scottsdale Princess (a huge resort with lots of pools), The Phoenician (for ultimate luxury), and The Scott Resort & Spa. You can also ask hotel staffs for special packages for bachelorettes.
3. Spacious Vacation Rentals: You can find bigger homes here, often with private pools and more living space, which is great for larger groups.
Where to Stay:
- Resorts: These are great for a high-end experience. Many have group-friendly features or bachelorette packages.
- Vacation Rentals: A good choice for bigger groups who want a lot of space and their own private pool, sometimes at a better price than Old Town.
North Scottsdale / McDowell Mountains: For a Relaxed or Outdoor Trip

If the bride loves nature, adventures, or just a quieter escape, North Scottsdale, near the beautiful McDowell Mountains, is a great pick. We thought about this for our friend since she likes hiking, but we chose a more central spot. Still, for a different friend, this would be perfect.
Why It Might Fit Your Group:
- Beautiful Scenery: This area is closer to amazing hiking trails in the McDowell Sonoran Preserve and Pinnacle Peak. If your group wants morning hikes with stunning desert views, this is your place.
- Luxury and Calm: North Scottsdale is generally quieter and more upscale, with fancy resorts and private homes, offering a peaceful break from busy areas.
- Golf Heaven: If golf is part of your bachelorette plans, this area has some of Arizona’s best golf courses.
South Scottsdale / Border of Phoenix: Good Value and Easy Access

If you’re watching your budget, or if your group wants easy access to both Scottsdale and Phoenix’s airport, South Scottsdale, near Phoenix, is a smart choice. When I looked for cheaper options, I found some nice Airbnbs here that were surprisingly close to Old Town but didn’t cost as much.
Why It’s an Option:
- More Affordable Stays: You can often find cheaper hotels and vacation rentals here compared to the more central or fancy parts of Scottsdale. This can save a lot of money for larger groups.
- Easy to Get Around: It’s still quite close to Old Town Scottsdale, usually just a 10-15 minute drive, and very handy for getting to and from the airport.
- Different Choices: You’ll find a mix of hotels and unique vacation rentals, some still with fun “bachelorette” touches like pools and cool decor.
Choosing the Best Area for YOUR Bachelorette Party: What to Think About
After all our research and the actual party, here’s what I learned is super important for making the right choice:
- Budget: How much can your group spend on where you stay? Scottsdale has options for every budget.
- Vibe: What kind of party does the bride want? A crazy dance party, a relaxing spa weekend, outdoor adventures, or a mix of everything?
- Group Size: For smaller groups, hotels work well. For bigger groups, a spacious vacation rental often makes more sense so everyone can hang out together.
- Must-Do Activities: List the top 3-5 things your group absolutely wants to do. This will help you narrow down the best spot. If daily hikes are a must, North Scottsdale wins. If hitting a different club every night is the plan, Old Town is it.
- Getting Around: Do you want to walk everywhere, or are you fine with using rideshares or a party bus? From my experience, even a 15-minute Uber can add up fast for a big group doing many trips.
Conclusion
By thinking about your group’s budget, what kind of party you want, and what activities are a must, you can easily pick the best area to stay.
My biggest lesson from planning my friend’s bachelorette was that knowing the “personality” of each area in Scottsdale was super helpful. We went with an Old Town Airbnb for the walking access and nightlife, and it was perfect for her high-energy group. But I know for a different friend who loves to relax, a resort in McCormick Ranch would be the ideal choice.
